Beverly has 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry and is a Partner in Company Growth, a specialist business consultancy operating throughout the UK. A founder member of the Malmaison Hotels team, Beverly was Vice President, Operations and Sales at Malmaison before moving to Macdonald Hotels as Managing Director, Scotland.

Working at executive level for the last 15 years, Beverly has also held a Board position with One Devonshire Gardens, the luxury award-winning hotel and restaurant in Glasgow. Beverly has a successful track record working with small businesses in the hospitality, tourism and leisure industry - working on a one-to-one basis with owners and managers to help them improve business performance and profitability.

Gary Lowthian

Gary Lowthian runs Strategic Tourism, a specialist business consultancy and has been a key partner in the Profit Through Productivity programme from the beginning.

Having worked with tourism businesses for many years, Gary has built up a wealth of knowledge and a track record in business development, with particular expertise in improving small business performance, direct marketing, E-Marketing and employee development.

Gary has worked with more than 100 tourism businesses across the country. Previous roles include spells at VisitScotland, Cumbria Tourist Board and Yorkshire Tourist Board. Gary has a Masters Degree and Postgraduate Diploma in tourism and marketing and also holds the Chartered Institute of Marketing E-Marketing award.

Judith Clarke

Judith Clarke is Research and Development Manager at Hospitality and Leisure Manpower (HaLM). Before joining HaLM in 2007, Judith worked as a consultant in the tourism sector for 15 years, specializing in HR and training. Clients included Radisson Edwardian, the Ritz, Firmdale Hotels, Choice Hotels International, Compass and Sodexho. Her work with Hollybourne Hotels helped them become regional winner of the 2006 Edge Training Awards.

Prior to that, Judith held operational and management positions with Grand Metropolitan Hotels and Queens Moat Houses. She also set up the training and development systems at Le Méridien Piccadilly in London. Judith is an accredited ‘trainer of trainers’ and has an HND in Hotel and Catering Management.

Judith, together with Annie Michael and Lucy Dudman at HaLM provide a valuable helpline service for ‘Profit Through Productivity’ businesses using the Induction Training Pack. They can answer any queries a business may have and help with the ordering of materials and completion of assessments.

Malcolm Gallagher

Malcolm Gallagher is a tourism, hospitality and leisure ‘business performance improvement’ specialist with over 40 years' experience in the sector. He is a director of BizVision Ltd and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He prides himself on delivering innovative, fresh thinking and challenging coaching and training.

Malcolm has coached businesses across the tourism sector, large and small, and has a wealth of experience of strategies and tactics for business growth and performance improvement. He has specialist expertise in working with businesses to develop practical plans to maximise revenue across operations and throughout the year, in particular using internet marketing activity.

Nick Scade

Nick Scade has over 30 years' experience in the hotel and restaurant industry and has considerable experience in creating and running restaurants in the UK and Europe with a wide variety of eating styles.

He was Catering Director of London Clubs International, Managing Director of the internationally renowned Michelin-starred Boulestin Restaurant in London and from 1992 to 1999 was Managing Director of The Restaurant Partnership plc. He also owned his own successful restaurant, The New Mill, in the Thames Valley, from 1985–2006.

Nick is currently President of The Restaurateurs Association of Great Britain and Chief Executive of the Academy of Food and Wine Service. he is also co-founder, with Roy Ackerman, of The Restaurant Factory food and beverage consultancy. In 1999 he was awarded the MBE for his services to training and education in the hotel and restaurant industry.

Paul Breach

Paul Breach has over 15 years' experience leading a range of UK and European consumer goods businesses in the hospitality industry. A marketeer by training, Paul was Managing Director of Seagram UK, Chairman of Oddbins and from 1996 to 1999 was Chief Executive of The Restaurant Partnership plc. He a Partner in the specialist consultancy The Restaurant Factory and a Director of the Academy of Food and Wine Service.

Paul holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and is an alumnus of the Advanced Management Programme, Stanford University Business School, USA. Paul was awarded an OBE in the 2008 New Year Honours List.

Sam Swinstead is Business Development and Training Associate with Challenge Manager Ltd.

She prides herself in delivering innovative training and development programmes with a focus on realistic and effective outcomes that enables her to work in partnership with clients to achieve powerful results.

Sam holds a Masters Degree in Organisational Psychology and a Certificate in Coaching, giving a strong theoretical foundation to development programmes to complement her pragmatic approach, business focus and energy and creativity in the training room.

Tony Mason

Tony Mason is Principal Consultant of Leisure & Training Associates (LTA), a business consultancy specialising in the hospitality and restaurant sectors since 1991, and was patron supplier to the Restaurant Association for marketing and training services for 10 years. His background includes 17 years with American Express and Marketing Director roles with a number of restaurant and leisure businesses in the UK.

Tony works directly with independent establishments and small groups of restaurants and bars. These have included Michelin-starred restaurants, some of the best Indian restaurants in the UK, new start ups and businesses needing advice on product and customer development. His specialisms include improving customer satisfaction, upselling and teambuilding.

Tony is a regular contributor to trade magazines and has written for 'Dine Out' and 'Tandoori' for many years.
